Week 6
Build Team
The Build Team has been making tremendous progress as the season ramps up. The hopper is currently under construction and coming along well. The team has been putting the finishing touches on the robot, polishing and refining the conveyor system. One of the biggest milestones this week was successfully mounting the launcher onto the robot, which is a major step toward a competition-ready machine. On top of that, the practice field in our robotics space is fully assembled and ready to go, allowing drivers and operators to get valuable reps in before competition.
Programming Team
The Programming Team has hit the ground running with initial code testing now underway on the robot. The team is actively collaborating with CAD to ensure the software aligns with the finalized launcher design, working through any adjustments needed as the mechanical side continues to develop. This close cross-team communication is key to making sure everything comes together seamlessly on match day.
Electrical Team
The Electrical Team wrapped up a big week by completing the full wiring of the robot. Beyond the robot itself, the team conducted thorough inspections of both new and old batteries, ensuring everything is in peak condition and competition-ready.
CAD Team
The CAD Team is currently developing a detailed 3D model of the robot in its current state, which will serve as a valuable reference for the entire team in the future. In addition to their technical work, they've been dedicating time to mentoring newer members. Specifically, they’ve been walking freshmen through Autodesk Fusion, the team's CAD software of choice. To give newer members hands-on practice, they've been assigned smaller projects such as designing a custom bucket for the Business Team, a fun and practical way to develop real skills while contributing to the broader team community.
